State Chairmen pass vote of confidence on LP National Chairman, Abure
State Chairmen of the Labour Party (LP) from the 36 states of the federation, including members of the National Working Committee (NWC), on Saturday, passed a vote of confidence on the National Chairman, Julius Abure. They unanimously mandated the National Chairman, Abure, to convene the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.
The 36 State Chairmen and the NWC members, at a press conference on Saturday, declared the leadership of Lamidi Apapa illegal, nullifying and voiding all decisions.
The State Chairman, affirming their vote of confidence on Abure as the LP national chairman, maintained that the party still suspends Yomi Arabambi and Anslem Eragbe.
The state chairmen and NWC members commended the LP Board of Trustees, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), for their firm stand on Abure as LP national chairman, and holding that the party leadership cannot be changed without due process.
