Tinubu, Obi, Atiku cast votes, express optimism
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Mr. Peter Obi, All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu and that of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar have casted their votes at their various voting units.
Peter Obi who arrived in PU 019, Umudimakasi Square, Agulu, Anambra State, spoke upon arrival at his polling unit, expressing optimism of victory at the polls.
Asked about his chances of winning the election, the former Anambra State governor said: “I am very optimistic. You can see the positive mood among my people.
“People are coming out to vote to make sure the Labour Party wins.”
Atiku performed his civic right at about 9:11 am at his polling unit in Adamawa State. While thumb-printing on his ballot paper, some people circled him to see his vote.
Speaking briefly after the exercise, Atiku said, “it is a worthwhile exercise, we don’t have a uniform expectation because every environment has its peculiarities.
“This is a more credible election than previous ones and it is good that we are getting better every election year.”
The APC candidate, Bola Tinubu casted his vote in Alausa area of Ikeja alongside his wife and other top aides.
Addressing the media, Tinubu said the process is going smoothly and commended the turn-out of voters.
“I want to commend Nigerians for coming out en masse to cast their votes without any rancor.
He also charged the people to maintain decorum, cast their votes peacefully.
