U.S., S/Korea engage North Korea in nuclear armament, fire surface-to-surface missiles North Korea’s ballistic missile test
United States and South Korea in a joint military drills on Wednesday, engaged North Korea in nuclear armament in the Korean Peninsula. The US/North Korea joint military forces carried out ‘precise bombing drill’, firing projectiles after North Korea tested ballistic missiles over Japan on Tuesday.
The South Korean military said the U.S. and South Korea fired four surface-to-surface missiles toward the Sea of Japan, or East Sea, in response to North Korea’s provocation.
The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said each side fired two missiles which accurately hit mock targets and demonstrated the allies’ capability to deter further provocations.
