Update FCT elections: PDP extends victory to third area council, Bwari
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday extended its victory in the Saturday council election in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to the Bwari Area Council, winning the Chairmanship election has been re-elected in Saturday FCT Area Council election.
From the results announced at INEC’s office in Bwari, the Returning/Collation Officer, Prof. Amuche Madu, declared the PDP candidate, John Gabaya, winner of the Saturday polls with a total of 13, 045 votes, beating the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Audi haruna Shekwolo, to a second position who had 7,697 votes. PDP had won the chairmanship poll in Kuje.
Bwari has 10 wards which include Igu, Kubwa, Duste, Kawu, Byazin, Shere, Bwari central, Kuduru and Usuma, with 91 polling units and over 3,900 registered voters.
