When Aston Villa are better than Manchester United
Aston Villa have been rated a better coached team than Manchester United by Liverpool’s icon Jamie Carragher.
According to the legendary: “You can make an argument that Unai Emery is the third best manager in this Premier League. If you back over the last 12 months since he came in at Villa, if you are talking about Man Utd, Aston Villa are a better coached team than United. There is no doubt about that.”

Carragher believes Emery is the third best manager in the Premier League behind Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp.
Villa matched their 1983 13th home win with a 3-1 victory over Fulham on Sunday.
The result at Villa Park saw the club equal the post-war club record for successive top-flight home victories. The result also makes it six wins out of six at home in the Premier League this season.
Emery’s side are fifth in the Premier League table. They are now just one point outside the top four behind fourth-placed Tottenham. Villa will play guest to Tottenham on November 26 after the international break.
Remarkably, Villa are also only three points behind league leaders Manchester City. And Carragher, speaking on Super Sunday, thinks there’s a case to be made for Emery being the third best manager in the league. According to the former defender,
“You can make an argument that Unai Emery is the third best manager in this Premier League,” Carragher said.
Emery is ahead the likes of Mikel Arteta, Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag. This is because of the trophies he has on his CV.
“You’ve probably got Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola, they are Champions League winners.
“But when you look at the body of work of Unai Emery, not just at Aston Villa, he’s continually winning Europa Leagues.
“Mikel Arteta and even Mauricio Pochettino haven’t got that CV in terms of winning trophies.”
