Why I strangled my mother to death – 26-year-old confesses
Security operatives attached to the Gombe police command have apprehended a 26-year-old man, Garba Abubakar for allegedly strangling and murdering his mother, Salamatu Abubakar aged 45.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, Ishola Babaita, while parading the suspect before newsmen stated that the accused murdered the victim because she often condemned his habit of indulging in drugs. “The suspect strangled his mother because she usually advised him to stop taking hard drugs. The victim was rushed to General Hospital Kumo where she was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
“I am advising parents to pay more attention to the care of their children and make sure they are not into hard drug. Sadly this woman was murdered by her own son; that is the effect of drugs.” A 53-year-old man who defiled his neighbor’s 10-year-old daughter was also paraded “This suspect took advantage of that and forcefully had carnal knowledge of the little girl.”
