Why Obi Cubana is still in EFFC’s custody
Contrary to reports that popular socialite Obinna Iyiegbu, aka Obi Cubana has been released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, he is still in custody, National Daily has gathered.
Iyiegbu (Cubana) was invited and quizzed by the anti-graft agency on Monday over allegations of money laundering and tax fraud.
According to sources, the Anambra-born businessman was still undergoing interrogation at the agency as of last night over his involvement in various illegal deals.

A top source who was privy to ongoing investigation in the agency, said: “Cubana is still with us, our operatives have been grilling him.”
The source said crack detectives spent hours interrogating Cubana on inflows into his accounts.
The source said: “It is a case of suspected money laundering and the commission is only asking him to clarify some transactions. We have been screening his accounts and raising questions for him to answer. So far, he has cooperated with our team. But we have not released him.”
