World Athletics ratifies 100m hurdles world record of Nigerian athlete, Tobi Amusan
The World Athletics on Tuesday ratified the world record set by the Nigerian athlete, Tobi Amusan, in the women’s 100m hurdles semi-final at the Athletics Championships in Oregon, USA, in July.
The World Athletic in a statement on Tuesday on its website, ratified the time of 12.12 seconds record of Amusan to defeat former world record holder, Kendra Harrison, who set world record in the 100 metres hurdles with a time of 12.20 seconds in 2016, at the London Müller Anniversary Games.
Amusan, 25, improved in the record, running 12.06 (2.5m/s) in the final to win the gold medal; the record was however, said to be wind-assisted.
