NSE closes in red on eve of rescheduled elections

The Nigerian Stock Exchange ended Friday’s trading session on a negative note. The All Share Index closed at 32,568.66 basis points, down 0.12%. Year to date, the index is up 3.63%

The Initiates Plc was the best performing stock today. The stock gained 8.96% to close at N0.73. Japaul Oil and Maritime Services was next appreciating by 8.70% to close at N0.25. Mc Nichols round up the top three gainers for the day adding 8.51% to close at N0.51.

On the flip side, Cadbury Nigeria was the worst performing stock today. The stock declined by 9.57% to close at N10.40. Livestock Feeds was next dropping by 7.94% to close at N0.58. First Aluminum rounds up the top three losers for the day, shedding 6.45% to close at N0.29.

Diamond Bank was the most actively traded stock today. 40.7 million shares valued at N98.6 million were traded in 107 deals. Cornerstone was next with 26.6 million shares valued at N5.5 million were traded in 49 deals.

Access Bank rounds up the three most actively traded with 22.6 million shares valued at N144 million traded in 166 deals.
