Obi mourns death of Senator Ayogu Eze
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, on Friday, mourned the death of Senator Ayogu Eze, acknowledging the contributions of the demised vibrant politician to national development.
Obi in a statement declared: @PeterObi
“Just received the sad news of the death of Senator Ayogu Eze. Senator Eze was a vibrant politician who was once the Spokesman of the nation’s Senate and Chairman of the Works Committee of the Senate.
“Before delving into politics in the third Republic where he served as Special Adviser to Governor Okwesileze Nwodo, and as a Commissioner in Governor Chimaroke Nnamani’s administration, Senator Eze made a name in his first call profession, Journalism, in the Guardian and Newswatch Magazine, where he rose to the position of Editor.
“Until his death, he was a Federal Commissioner for Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
“Senator Eze made significant contributions to the development of the country in various areas and he will be missed for his robust and incisive analysis of issues.
“I pray the Almighty God to forgive his shortcomings, and grant his soul eternal rest and fortitude to all of us who mourn his demise, particularly, the people of Enugu North of Enugu state. -PO”
