A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Femi Fani-Kayode has stated his position on how the 2023 presidential primaries of the APC and the PDP will play out.

Fani-Kayode in a tweet via his official Twitter handle on Thursday, April 28 predicted that the opposition party, PDP’s presidential aspirant Atiku Abubakar will emerge victorious at the party primaries ahead of Governor Nyesom Wike, Senator Bukola Saraki, and Ayodele Fayose.

The former minister of aviation added that the emergence of Atiku will leave the ruling party APC no choice but to field a northern candidate.

Fani-Kayode further backed his assertions with the fact that politics is a game of numbers and a northern candidate from both will amount to an equal battle.

He said :”The truth is that @atiku is likely to win the pres. primaries in the @OfficialPDPNig.

“Given that, the only way @OfficialAPCNg can win is by fielding a northern candidate. “Whether anyone likes it or not this is the truth.”Politics is a game of numbers: take it or leave it.”

Earlier, the former minister of aviation, said Governor Yahaya Bello will defeat Atiku Abubakar effortlessly in the 2023 presidential election if the duo gets to the battlefield.

Fani-Kayode stated this in an interview with Channels Television on Friday.

He said there are reports which showed that PDP has given its 2023 presidency ticket to Atiku.

The former minister added that the former vice president stands no chance because Yahaya Bello and other aspirants from APC are better candidates for the job.

Fani-Kayode, however, didn’t hide the fact that he is backing Yahaya Bello to win the 2023 presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress.

He added only Bala Mohammed, governor of Bauchi and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, his Enugu counterparts from the PDP can provide a “strong fight” against the APC in the 2023 presidential election.

Fani-Kayode asked Mohammed to join the APC to contest the ruling party’s presidential ticket if the PDP denied him a slot.

He spoke on Thursday at a meeting with the south-west PDP leaders ahead of the party’s primary scheduled for May 2022.

Addressing party stakeholders at the meeting, the former vice-president said he stands a chance to win owing to his performance as the PDP presidential candidate in the 2019 general election.

Atiku also urged the PDP south-west leaders to reflect on the 2023 elections, especially on the candidate who can secure victory for the party.

He said “Many of you are young men starting your political career and I believe you need to advance in your political career than stay static.
