2023: Tambuwal snags first state endorsement ahead of Atiku, Saraki, others
Sokoto Gov. Aminu Tambuwal is trying to hit the ground running as he follows his declaration for the 2023 presidency with consultations.
At least the PDP in Zamfara has endorsed him for the party ticket, before the main party presidential race veteran ex-V.P Atiku Abubakar.
The Zamfara PDP exco led by Col. Bala Mande (rtd.), noted that since “Sokoto PDP and Zamfara PDP are one”, Tambuwal is their preference.
He said his while Tambuwal visited the state on Monday.
The state’s Deputy Governor, Mahdi Aliyu joined others to welcoe him.
Tambuwal told the gathering thathe wanted to save Nigeria from disintegration, and he thanked the hosts for the endorsement, urging the people to close ranks and not be deterred by the challenges.
He also condoled with them over the killings, kidnapping and general insecurity in the state.
In his remarks, Aliyu declared that Zamfara State PDP will stand strong for the governor’s 2023 presidential ambition.
On Tambuwal’s entourage were former Governor, Attahairu Bafarawa, ex-Deputy Governor and ex-Minister, Muktah Shagari, ex-Minister Bello Sulaiman, among others.
