What Are The Warning Signs The Body Needs More Calcium?
Hypocalcemia is a situation that arises due to lack or shortage of calcium in the blood. When your body is lacking calcium, some people find it difficult to know the warning signs, so below are the signs of lack of calcium or shortage or calcium in the blood;
1. Muscle Problems; when there is less calcium in the blood, you may notice muscle aches, pains and even spasms. You may also have issues moving about freely or feel pain while moving your thighs, tingling in the hands, feet and legs in some cases and many other bone related disorders. So once you start noticing these signs or symptoms, do well to see a doctor or start consuming foods that contain calcium.
2. Chronic Fatigue; this is another sign of calcium deficiency. When there is low level of calcium in the blood, you may start feeling weaker than normal and even feeling sluggish. It can also lead to insomnia or sleeplessness. Beyond just feeling weak, you may also feel lightheaded, dizzy and have issues with accurately remembering things.
3. Tooth Issues; when there is less calcium in the body, the body can start drawing calcium from the teeth. When this happens, you may notice brittle teeth, tooth decays and even problems with the gum stemming from the fact that the body now derive it’s calcium from the teeth.
4. Nail and Skin Problems may also arise if your body is lacking calcium. Protracted lack of calcium in the blood can lead to dryness of the skin, broken or dry nails and even coarseness of hair. When the skin is so dry, it can lead to eczema and psoriasis. So take note of all these signs and make sure you consume foods that contain calcium.
