7 car snatchers arrested by Zone 2 Command

The Zone 2 Command of the Nigeria Police Force has brought the activities of some notorious car snatchers to an end as seven suspects have been arrested and paraded in Lagos.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2, Onikan, AIG Adamu Ibrahim while parading the suspects, said the arrest was made possible by men of its zonal intervention squad (ZIS) in connection with a case of robbery and stealing of vehicles from where they were parked.
The suspects consisting of the robbers, informant and buyers of the vehicles were identified as Joshua Tabiti, Moses Ofoke, Oluseye Arokoyo, Ahmed Alli, Folorunsho Ojowuro, Christopher Mmadike and Samuel Bolala.

National Daily learnt that the Zonal Command had on 6th October, received a distress information that suspected armed robbers had snatched a Toyota Camry from Lagos, and were heading towards Sango Otta area of Ogun State.
Immediately, it was further revealed, a team of ZIS operatives were detailed to track the suspects and three suspects were apprehended.
The suspects while under investigation confessed that they specialized in robbing unsuspecting citizens of their vehicles and also remove cars from where they are parked.
Revealing their mode of operation added that they often operates within Bariga, Oworonshoki and Shomolu area of Lagos with the help of a guard employed by the community.
Following their confessional statement, galvanised to the arrest of four more suspects who served as buyers the stolen vehicles.
AIG Adamu further explained that a total of 26 vehicles were recovered from the suspects.
He noted that the Zonal Command would not relent to rid his jurisdiction of criminals adding that they will continue to do everything possible to end activities of hoodlums within the zone especially now that the yuletide season is fast approaching.
The Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Dolapo Badmos implores everyone who lost his vehicle(s) in recent past to visit the Zonal command to cross check for possible recovery with proof of ownership.
