APC boils: Oshiomhole rushes to Appeal Court for survival
The judgement of the Federal High Court, Abuja, which sacked the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, on Wednesday has set the ruling party boiling. The judgement of the court was received at the APC national secretariat by the workers with wild celebration, while the Police took over the APC secretariat later on Wednesday.
The APC National Vice Chairman North West, Mustapha Salihu, had cautioned against Oshiomhole defying the court order which restricted from parading himself as APC national chairman.
Subsequently, the party agreed to comply with the court order, implying Oshiomhole is temporarily ousted as APC national chairman pending the hearing of the substantive suit.
Meanwhile, Oshiomhole on Wednesday rushed to the Court of Appeal seeking to restrain the enforcement of the court order.
The former APC national chairman, Oshiomhole, in the notice of appeal in the Court of Appeal, Abuja, suit no. FCT/HC/CV/837/2020, listed himself and the APC as the Appellants while the respondents include Comrade Mustapha Salihu, Anslem Ojezua, Alhali Sani Gomna, Oshawo Steven, Hon. Fani Wabulari, Evang. Princewill Ejogharado, the Inspector General of Police and the State Security Service.
Oshiomhole expressed his dissatisfaction with the judgement of the Federal High Court, Abuja, urging the Appeal Court to upturn the judgement.
The notice of appeal reads:
“Take notice that the Applicants being dissatisfied with the decision of the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Jabi, Abuja, (Coram D.Z.
