Police on the trail of hoodlums who burnt Igboho’s house
The Nigerian Police Force has declared that the force has commenced manhunt for the hoodlums who burnt the residence of Sunday Igboho in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Oyo State Police Command, accordingly, declared on Tuesday that the Command is on the trail of yet unidentified persons who burnt the residence of Sunday Igboho.
The Police had highlighted: “At about 0620 hours of today 26/01/2021, report was received at Santo Police Station that some unidentified hoodlums came to Sunday Igboho’s house at SOKA area of Ibadan in a Hummer bus and Micra firing sporadically and set the house ablaze.
“The mini sitting room got burnt in the process while amount of other properties is yet to be estimated
“Immediately the DPO Sanyo got wind of the incident, he contacted Fire Service while he also went to the scene for on-the-spot assessment.
“The fire was eventually put out.
“Investigation has commenced into the incident while the Police is on the trail of the hoodlums.”
Igboho’s house was set ablaze in the early hours of Tuesday.
Igboho, an indigene of Oyo, has been leading the Yoruba people on the quit notice issued Fulani herdsmen in the southwest over rampant kidnapping and killings in the region. The quit order has generated tension between the Fulani herdsmen and the people in the Ibarapa area of Oyo State, and other states in the southwest.
