Air Peace aircraft comes down; aviation authorities cover up bad news
It took almost 24 hours for the news of another air mishap on the runway of the Ilorin International Airport to filter out on July 24.
An aircraft on the fleet of Air Peace crash-landed, bursting a tyre as it hit the tarmac.
The airline began operation to Kwara state about a month ago.
According to investigation, the aircraft crashed as it prepared to touch down in Ilorin from Abuja.
But the Federal Aviation Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and other agencies tried concealed the incident as they make effort to clear the accident, a source stated.
While there was no major casualties, the luggage cascaded on the passengers upon the forcible landing.
Those so affected were however given medical attention.
