Suspected killer policemen arrested in Bayelsa, as IGP calls for calm
Following the unfortunate death of a Police officer, ASP Mathew Akpos, allegedly killed by operatives of the State Command Special Anti-Robbery Squad, (SARS), this month, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, has called for calm as the Police authorities has waded into the matter with a view to ensuring that justice is served.
The appeal is coming on the heels of protests by aggrieved citizens of the state.
It was learnt that following the death of the police officer, the IGP immediately directed that the matter should be investigated to ensure justice is served.

Meanwhile, according to the police spokesperson, ACP Olabisi Kolawole, said in Abuja that all the Policemen linked with the killing of the officer have been arrested, detained and are presently undergoing investigation, for subsequent prosecution.
She further state that the IGP has called on the family and friends of the deceased officer to remain calm and patient as the Police authority will not relent in their efforts to ensure professionalism in carrying out their constitutional assignmen
