Aubameyang finally leaves Arsenal for Barcelona

A top striker in the English Premier League, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has finally left Arsenal to join Barcelona in sprain. Arsenal   on Tuesday announced the exit of Aubameyang from the club, signaling clearance for the 32-year-old former Arsenal captain and Gabonese striker to formally sign for Barcelona.

Aubameyang pictures training with Barcelona on Tuesday in Spain was widely posted on social media.

The 32-year-old striker was in Spain on Monday, hours before the deadline of the January transfer window. Though, Barca did not announce a deal Aubameyang before the deadline elapsed, but his release by Arsenal gave the former captain a free agent opportunity to sign outside the transfer window.

Arsenal had declared in a statement on Tuesday: “Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has left the club by mutual agreement.

“We wish Auba all the best for the next chapter in his career and thank him for his contribution to the club.”

Aubameyang left Borussia Dortmund for Arsenal in the 2018 January transfer window on a deal of 56 million pounds, on the last day of the transfer window.  He made 165 appearances in competitive games for the club in his four years stay, scoring 92 goals. He was rated one of the top-paid players in the Premier League with a basic salary of about 250,000 pounds (300,000 euros or 330,000 dollars) a week.
