How informant tipped off gunmen who killed, robbed oil and gas businessman at Ifo
Oso Femi, the owner of a fuelling station at Nitel Bust Stop, Ifo, Ogun was shot in the head around 10 pm Sunday, and his car was driven away by gunmen dressed in military uniforms.
Police said some informant might have tipped off the gunmen.
A nephew of the man, who identified himself as Harbee, witnessed the incident.
He was about to go home when they came to attack him. He tried to escape and they shot him on the head, took his car and his money and went away,” the nephew said.
“We found the car at Obada Oko. The car was packed in the bush. It’s currently at the police station.”
The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the incident.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the incident was a case of armed robbery.
“I think there was information about the man that he was coming with some amount of money. So, they took away the vehicle with the money inside it. We are still investigating the incident,” Oyeyemi told reporters in a telephone interview.
