The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Saturday expanded his consultations for the presidential election into the traditional institutions of Yoruba Land, seeking endorsement of the paramount ruler of Ijebu Land, Awujale of Ijebu Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona Ogbagba II. Tinubu building up to formally declare his ambition for the 2023 presidential election, had at the weekend also visited the Alake of Egba Land for endorsement and mobilization of traditional support.
The APC national leader commenced with consultation with notification of President Muhammadu Buhari who he visited at the State House in January.
Tinubu informed the Awujale of Ijebu Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona Ogbagba II that he had notified President Buhari of his ambition to succeed him in 2023. “I told the President I want to replace you and I don’t want to offend you.
“I told the President that I want to step in his shoes but not step on his toes.
