Candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party appear to be trouncing their All Progressives Congress opponents in some early results trickling in from the wards after the FCT Abuja election.
The PDP won both the chairmanship and councillorship election in Igu and Usuma wards in Bwari Area Council.
The PDP also won in three wards in Kuje council, for which results have been officially announced.
The election held in six councils: Abaji, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, Kwali and Abuja Municipal (AMAC).
Over 400 candidates from 14 parties contested for the chairmanship and councillorship positions.
They are drawn from 14 political parties cleared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to participate in the poll.

The results are trickling in, going by uploads by INEC.
In Abaji chairmanship election, out of 485 results being expected, 410 have been submitted as at 7am on Sunday.
In Abaji, results have been submitted in 109 out of 135 polling units.
Gwagwalada had 268 of 338 results in.
Kuje had 204 of 262. In Kwali, only 45 out of 201 have been uploaded.
In Abuja municipal, 768 of 1401 results had been submitted to the INEC portal.
