Fire razes Sheikh Gumi’s home in Kaduna
Fire gutted the residence of an Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, in Kaduna, Kaduna State, razing down part of the building. The fire outbreak had occurred on Saturday afternoon, and extended to an Islamiyya school located in the premises, located along Alimi Road, Kaduna.
Residents in the environs were said to have noticed thick smoke rising from the home of the renowned Islamic scholar. They were said to have urgently intervened, pouring water into the inferno to extinguish the films. Later the Kaduna State Fire Service were said to have deployed its operatives who rushed to the scene of the fire outbreak to successfully extinguished the fire and preventing it from spreading to the entire premises.
