NDLEA seeks APC approval for drug integrity test on Tinubu, others
The Chairman and Chief Executive of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig Gen Buba Marwa (rtd) has written a letter to the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC, Sen Abdullahi Adamu, requesting that officials of the NDLEA be given access to conduct drugs integrity tests for politicians seeking political offices in the country.
The NDLEA boss who was speaking during the 1st quarter award ceremony of the agency in Abuja explained that the drug test is necessary to ensure that politicians vested with important national offices not to use budgetary allocations to go and buy cocaine or Methamphetamine instead of providing needed services for the masses.’
The development has caused anxiety, accusations and counter accusations among supporters of the aspirants.

There are allegations that the aspirants are exploring avenues of demarketing their opponents.
However, most Nigerians have welcomed the development, describing it as part of the leadership acumen of the chairman of the agency, Marwa.
Top on the list of politicians that have declared intention to run under the banner of the party is the APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu; Vice President Osinbajo; Transport Minister, Rotimi Amaechi; Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello, among others.
Marwa said that when it is the turn of PDP and other parties to conduct their party primaries, he would also write their national chairmen and request that operatives of NDLEA be allowed to conduct drug integrity tests on politicians aspiring for higher offices.
