Buhari, Osinbajo, Aregbesola, Fashola boycott APC mega rally in Osun as Tinubu takes control
There are apprehensions of an emerging new All Progressives Congress (APC) since the APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, emerged the party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections. While many had criticized President Muhammadu Buhari of politics of exclusion or marginalization, there are emerging fears that APC may be in worse situation of exclusivity in the Tinubu tenure. Some APC stakeholders have become skeptical of the party’s presidential candidate who is perceived to have imposed his hegemony on the party activities since his emergence at the national convention.
Some notable APC leaders were gathered to have began to dissociate themselves from certain party activities in the preparations for the 2023 general elections as Tinubu takes control.
According, prominent APC leaders, who include President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo SAN, the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola SAN, the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, were noticed to be conspicuously absent at the APC mega rally for the Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.
However, there has been intractable conflagration between Governor Gboyega Oyetola and his predecessor, Aregbesola, including the Tinubu camp before the preparations for the governorship election. the conflict has remained unresolved going into the governorship election in Osun State.
Reno Omokri, a renown social commentator, had on his verified twitter handle expressed: Reno Omokri @renoomokri “Why were Buhari, Osinbajo, Aregbesola, and Fashola absent at the so-called Osun APC mega rally? That event looked more like a Tinubu convention, rather than a rally. My counsel to Aregbesola is for him to ally with Adeleke or Oyetola will destroy him if re-elected” #TableShaker
Some APC governors and the national chairman, Abdulahi Adamu, were however present at the rally this week.
