Your nails are not only for beautification, they can also say a lot about your health. There are different marks, colors and physical changes that may occur if you have problems with your liver, kidney or heart. Below are the things your nails says about your health.
1. Pale Nails
Pale nails could occur due to trauma, anemia, heart disease, kidney disease or poisoning. This condition could cause partial or total whitening of your nails.
2. White Nails
If most of your nails are white with darker edges that may be a sign that you have liver problems such as hepatitis.
3. Yellow Nails
This may indicate fungal infection which could be a sign of thyroid disease, lung disease, diabetes or psoriasis.
4. Cracked or Split Nails
This could occur due to fungal infection and thyroid disease. Your nails will tend to get dry, cracked and split.
5. Puffy Nail Fold
This indicates that you are not healthy and it could be caused psoriasis, fungus or other infections. This condition causes redness, swelling and folds around your tissues.
6. Dark Lines Beneath the Nail
Dark lines beneath your nails could be caused by skin cancer, infection or injury. So when you notice this, you have to check for the cause in order to undergo medical attention if necessary.
