Presidency 2023: You can’t campaign, defend, promote Tinubu without looking stupid – Dino Melaye
The spokesperson of the Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign organization for 2023 elections, Dino Melaye, has said that the colossal failure of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has marketed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar for the 2023 elections. He berated Festus Keyamo SAN, APC presidential spokesman, for ‘speaking off track’. Melaye asserted that an APC candidate is the most difficult candidate to sell in the elections, whether at the House of Representatives, Senate, or governorship level.
According to Melaye, “That is why you cannot defend, promote, or campaign for Bola Ahmed Tinubu without looking stupid. This is what happened to my brother and friend, Festus Keyamo, he started talking off point. He started saying things that do not make sense.”
Melaye on Channels Television on Friday, chided Keyamo, Minister of Labour and Employment; the spokesperson of the Tinubu campaign organization, who said that Atiku Abubakar is no match for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
Keyamo was cited to have said that ‘Atiku does not have the experience to lead Nigeria and that the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is even way ahead of him in the race for the country’s number one seat’.
Melaye asserted that Atiku is the best candidate to be Nigeria’s president in 2023, saying that Peter Obi is only enjoying “social media euphoria”.
Melaye said he has tremendous respect for Obi but said this is not his time to be president of Nigeria, adding that does not have the capacity at the moment to unify the country.
Melaye, accordingly, declared: “This government marketed Atiku by their colossal failure.
“Today, the most difficult candidate to sell is an APC candidate whether, at the House of Representatives, Senate, or governorship level.
“That is why you cannot defend, promote, or campaign for Bola Ahmed Tinubu without looking stupid. This is what happened to my brother and friend, Festus Keyamo, he started talking off point. He started saying things that do not make sense.”
He maintained: “What you have is euphoria; a created euphoria.
“…Peter Obi is a fantastic Nigerian. I have tremendous respect for him and I have said it before but this is not his time. He does not have what it takes now to unify the country.
“Today, among all presidential candidates, Atiku is the only one that can be trusted; nobody will see him as a religious bigot, tribalist; or ethnic jingoist.”
