Why your phone malfunctions
Phone and Allied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria has said that most new phones malfunctioned because they lacked the network grade of such an environment.
The association’s President, Mr Ifeanyi Akubue told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Monday that such phones were bound to malfunction because they were low to such an environment’s grade.
Akubue said most people buy a phone because it was trending but lacked the features for which it was purchased.
Akubue said that a phone with 3G status was likely to be slow or malfunction in a country with a 4G or 5G network grade.
According to him, when a new phone malfunctions, it does not mean the phone is bad, it might be that the phone lacked the features to function well in that environment.
He said that buying an expensive phone and later on find out that it does not support the latest technologies could be very disappointing.
‘’When buying a phone, it is wise to check the settings of the phone, the manual that came with the phone or the website of the manufacturer to know if the phone meets your needs.
“When one uses a 4G SIM, it will be difficult to function properly in a 2G or 3G phone.
” There is need to upgrade such a phone to avoid disappointment.
“To enjoy the speed of 4G, one must have a handset that supports 4G networks.”
Akubue said that 5G handsets were already in the market, pending when the Federal Government would roll out it 5G network
