200-level student arrested for killing his 60-yr-old stepmom with a pestle
A 200 level student of the Federal University, Dutsinma (FUDMA), Najib Umar Shehu, 25, has been arrested by the police in Katsina State in connection with the murder of his 60-year-old stepmother, Asiya Mohammed.
It was gathered that the suspect had a misunderstanding with the victim — a retired civil servant — on August 18, 2022, and attacked her with a pestle at their residence in Ambassador Quarters.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Isah Gambo, in a statement on Thursday, August 25, said: “He went into the kitchen, grabbed a p€stle, h#t her severally with it on her head and as a result of which she sustained head inj#ries and was confirmed de@d by a medical doctor.
In the spur of the moment, suspect also h#t his father severally with the said p€stle on his leg and sustained fracture into different places on his leg. Suspect has been arrested and confessed to the commission of the offence.
