Havertz, Chilwell save Chelsea from home defeat by West Ham
Chelsea FC on Saturday escaped a home defeat before visiting Wes Ham with goals from Ben Chilwell and Kai Havertz to triumph over the visitors.
The new buy, Michail Antonio, had shot West Ham to the lead in the 62nd minute, after a goalless first half at Stamford Bridge.
Ben Chilwell scored in the 76th minute to draw level. Chilwell was brought in as substitute for Marc Cucurella.
Kai Havertz scored in the 88th minute top give Chelsea 2-1 lead that made the team victorious over West Ham.
Maxwel Cornet scored what would have been an equalizing goal in stoppage-time, which was disallowed by VAR, because of foul on Mendy by Jarrod Bowen who laid flat on the ground after the encounter.
Chelsea have lost two matches in the first five weeks of the season to Leeds and Southampton, and a draw against Tottenham. Chelsea is currently fifth on the Premier League table.
