Three die, two injured in early morning auto accident in Ogun

Three persons have reportedly been killed in a fatal crash that occurred at Obada area, Abeokuta in Ogun State.

The unfortunate incident, according to the Public Education Officer of Ogun State Sector Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander FRSC, Superintendent Route Commander Florence Okpe, occurred on Sunday morning – October 23, at about 0715 hrs immediately after Obada Police Station.

She said a total of five persons were involved (all male adults), three killed while two others sustained various degrees of injuries.

She explained further that the ugly incident involved two vehicles – a mini Volvo truck with registration number AKM489ZY and a Nissan car with no registration number.

“The suspected cause of the crash was route violation on the part of the Truck driver, resulting in head on collision.

“The injured victims were taken to General hospital Abeokuta while the corpses were deposited at the same hospital morgue,” Okpe added.

Ogun FRSC Sector Commander, CC Ahmed Umar, Commiserated with the family of the crash victims and advised motorists to avoid route violation completely. He added that safety is everybody’s business especially in this season of high vehicular movement, saying one should drive cautiously and obey traffic rules and regulations.
