Suspected stowaway knocked down by MedView plane

A middle aged man suspected to have fallen from a MedView  plane while it was negotiating to land at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, was almost crushed to death by the plane, investigation has shown.

Sources have disclosed to National Daily that the man fell on the runway as the plane approached the threshold to land. He was dragged a few meters from the threshold by wind pressure, but was eventually rescued by aerodrome attendants.

It was gathered that the pilot blasted the suspect with the tail wind from the propeller and the man fell a few inches from the plane’s wheels. According to investigation, the man sustained serious bruises and was immediately rushed to the hospital.

It was also gathered that over 80 passengers aboard the plane were gripped with fear and were heard yelling out exclamations in different tones as the pilot maneuvered the plane to a halt.

Attempts to verify the identity of the said suspect from the airline’s spokesman, Obuke Oyibota, hit the rock as several calls put to him by our reporter were bounced.

Even the General Manager, Corporate Communications, Federal Airport Authority, Yakubu Dati, denied knowledge of the incident but said he would report the details after verification.
