Lalong congratulates Women Affairs Minister, Paulen Tallen @ 64

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has congratulated the Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, on the occasion of her 64^th birthday.

The governor in a statement by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr Makut Macham, on Sunday in Jos, described Tallen as a thoroughbred politician and champion of women and human rights, who had continued to advocate for social justice in Nigeria.

“She is passionate about ensuring that the Nigerian woman and the girl-child are equipped with sound education and morals, and have ample opportunity to manifest their God-given talents and gifts,” he said.

According to him, the minister has used her office to seek an end to gender violence, rape, harmful practices and other discriminatory actions against women.

Lalong lauded Tallen for her commitment to the political development of Plateau and Nigeria and particularly, her advocacy for women to be allowed to contest for high political positions and key political appointments.

While wishing the minister more years of joy, peace and God’s blessings, the governor urged the minister to sustain her love for God and passion for the growth of the church.
