Gov. Mohammed appeals to electorate to support his re-election bid, vote all PDP candidates
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, on Sunday appealed the electorate to support his re-election bid and vote all the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections.
Mohammed, launching his re-election campaign in Itas-Gadau Local Government Area, promised not to interfere with the electoral process, rig himself into office, harass or intimidate anyone during the election. He expressed confidence that his good deeds in his first term would speak for him.
The governor lauded the District Head of Itas, Alhaji Sagir Abdullahi, for the support he has been showing the present administration and sought for his blessing to triumph in the March 11 gubernatorial election.
“We are grateful for the support we got from you in the past and you can see how we are fulfilling the pledge we made when we were campaigning in 2019.
“You have seen that we have constructed a road here and we are still doing some other projects and we are also happy working with the sons and daughters from this area in government.
“I am promising that we will not rig the election. We will allow the will of the people to prevail.
“I urge you to receive all the politicians that come here for campaign. Don’t run away, receive them because you are fathers to all,” the governor said.
The District Head expressed gratitude to the governor for all he had done for the local government since assumption of office.
He appreciated Mohammed for the construction of the road from Gadau town to Itas, adding that the community never expected its construction now.
“Besides this road, there are other dividends of democracy that we have benefited from your administration.
“Before you came into power, if medical personnel are posted here, they come and refuse to stay because there were no befitting accommodation for them.
“We once bought a mattress and chairs and took them to the Doctor’s Quarters, but that didn’t still convince him to stay, so he left. But when you came into the office, you renovated the Hospital itself,” the royal father said.
