Army Day Celebration: Military bless indigents with healthcare
The Nigerian Army under the 3 Division formation Rukuba Barracks, gave free medical health care to its host community in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The free Medical Care is to mark the 2023 Army Day Celebration, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 3 Division,
Maj.-Gen. Abdusalami Ibrahim, said on Wednesday.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Brig.-Gen. Ibrahim said the gesture is aimed at giving back to its host community, adding that it will help to foster the existing relationship between the Cantonment and its host community.
”We are here to provide medical support to members of our host community, because we believe a healthy population is key toward nation building.
”This exercise is part of our efforts toward ensuring a robust relationship between the division and its host community.

”All the medical services we will provide here today are free of charge,”Ibrahim said.
The Army boss also called on residents of Plateau and Nigeria in general to continually support the army and other security agencies in their bid to tackle insecurity in the country.
”Nigeria army will leave no stone unturned in promoting peaceful coexistence in Plateau and Nigeria as a whole.
”We call on community and religious leaders, and traditional rulers to support the army toward the actualisation of a peaceful society,” he said.
Earlier, Col. Innocent Enwuchola, the Commander, Hospitals and Medical Services of the division, explained that the outreach would cover health talk, dental services, deworming and eye check.
He also said that they would treat common medical conditions like malaria, typhoid, and also provide counseling for HIV, hepatitis, among others.
