Tears And Agony As NYSC Mourn Corps Member Joel Grace Chalya
The Management of National Youth Service Corps was thrown into painful mood over the sudden death of Corps Member, Joel Grace Chalya KD/23A/4386, who was murdered in the early hours of Wednesday, 18th October, 2023 in Kaduna.
The deceased after her morning devotion with other Corps Members at Barnawa GRA, Kaduna, where she resided went jogging when she met hoodlums who stabbed her and made away with her phone. This was contained in a statement signed by Eddy Megwa fnipr, Director, Press and Public Relations.
Her colleagues were alerted by a good Samaritan and the NYSC Management rushed the deceased to Harmony Hospital Limited in Barnawa, Kaduna for prompt medical attention, but unfortunately, she passed on.
The NYSC Management expresses its deepest condolences to the bereaved family, the deceased’s colleagues, her employer among others.
Moreso, the Scheme is in strong collaboration with various security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators of this dastardly act and ensure that justice is served.
Members of the public are enjoined to cooperate with the security agencies in ensuring that all Corps Members who are deployed to contribute their quota to national development by serving in their communities are adequately protected. Corps Members are our children, our sisters and brothers and they must be protected by all Nigerians.
