Supreme Court reserves judgement on SDP. LP, APC appeals against Oborevwori in Delta
The Supreme Court of Nigeria on Tuesday reserved judgement on the governorship election appeals filed by the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Labour Party (LP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), seeking to upturn the election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the 2023 general elections in Delta State.
The Delta State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal had dismissed the petitions of the appellants for unsubstantiated allegations, devoid of merit and was speculative.

The Court of Appeal had in November 2023 upheld the election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate. The three judges of the tribunal headed by Justice C.H. Ahuchaogu, had dismissed the petition by former Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, and others.
Oborevwori of the PDP was declared winner of the governorship election in Delta State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with 360,234 votes, while Omo-Agege of the APC had 240,229 votes.
