Chelsea are planning to make player sales of more than £100m in order to be compliant with profit and sustainability for the 2024/2025 season according to reports.

There had been reports that Chelsea were in a potentially precarious situation in regards to profit and sustainability issues for the 2023/2024 season, and that they needed to sell players before the June 30th deadline which has now passed.

The Blues have remained insistent they have been compliant with profit and sustainability and according to The Athletic the plan was to do some early business, and any lingering fears will no doubt have been eradicated with the sales of Ian Maatsen and Omari Hutchinson.

The Blues have already signed Tosin Adarabioyo, Estevao Willian, Omari Kellyman and Marc Guiu, with Leicester’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall set to become the club’s fifth summer signing.

It’s not just about incomings at Stamford Bridge, there will also be plenty of departures with Chelsea looking to move on a number of players.

The report adds that Chelsea plan to use a lot of the revenue raised through player sales to reinvest in the playing squad should potential targets meet their valuation.

Whilst things clearly haven’t gone to plan on the pitch, it appears the club at least know what they are doing in regards to staying within the regulations.

One thing Chelsea are very good at is player sales, and you wouldn’t bet against the club being able to move on the majority of the names mentioned above for good fees.
