The Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, has urged residents to refrain from sharing unverified information online.

He emphasized the potential consequences of spreading misinformation, warning that such actions can have serious repercussions.

The commissioner’s statement comes in response to a recent viral video that falsely suggested an armed robbery incident had occurred in the state.

The Bauchi State Police Command spokesperson, SP Ahmed Muhammad Wakil, clarified that the video depicted an incident from February 2020 and that the suspects involved had already been arrested and charged.

The police command urged the public to be cautious and verify information before sharing it online.
