Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour laments death of Rukayat Gawat, expressed deep sadness over the passing of the Islamic musician in Lagos.
The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in lagos State in the 2023 general elections, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, on Tuesday, expressed @GRVlagos “It is with deep sadness that I have just learned of the passing of Alhaja Rukayat Gawat, the beloved Lagos Islamic singer.

“Raised in Lagos Island, Okebopo, she was the daughter of Alhaji Abdulrazak Adamu Gawat and the wife of Morayepe.
“Her beautiful voice and devotion to Islamic music touched countless hearts across Lagos and beyond. All who knew her or were moved by her music will deeply feel her loss.
“Imole, may the Almighty grant you eternal peace and admit you to Jannatul Firdaus.
“My heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and fans during this difficult time.
“May they find comfort in the memories of her life and the legacy of her music.”
The death of Rukayat Gawat was announced on Tuesday.
