An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan has ordered the remand of Ibrahim Abiala, a 19-year-old man, in custody pending the outcome of his trial over alleged murder.
The court, presided over by Magistrate Mrs. Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair, directed that Abiala be held at the Correctional Centre.
Abiala, whose residential address was not provided in court, is accused of unlawfully causing the death of one Musa Mohammadu by stabbing him on the back.
The incident reportedly occurred on March 26, around 8:30 p.m. at Aleshinloye Market in Ibadan.
Although Abiala was not asked to enter a plea due to the court’s lack of jurisdiction, Magistrate Sanusi-Zubair ordered the police to forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
