Somolu Muslims restate support for Christian Chairmanship candidate

The Muslim community in Somolu Local Government Area of Lagos State has publicly distanced itself from a letter that reportedly criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate due to his Christian faith.

This announcement was made during a recent gathering at the Somolu Central Mosque, where local Muslim leaders expressed their unwavering support for the party’s choice, highlighting their commitment to harmony and coexistence.

During the event, prominent figures from the Muslim community unequivocally stated,

“We have not come for a fight. We are for peace. We support the party’s choice for the Chairmanship candidate.” Their affirmation reflects a growing desire among Somolu Muslims to focus on collaborative governance rather than polarizing religious identities.

The community also took the opportunity to distance itself from certain Muslim leaders who have been linked to the rejection of the Christian candidate.
