ABU alumni association mourns late I-G Arase
The International Studies Alumni Association, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Kaduna State, has expressed grief and extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of the former Inspector-General of Police, late Solomon Arase.
The National Public Relations Officer of the Association, Alhaji Abdullahi Shuaibu, in a statement in Zaria on Monday, expressed that the association shared in the sorrow of the Arase family during this difficult time.
Shuaibu added, “Arase was a distinguished alumnus of our great university, ABU Zaria and a product of the Department of Political Science and International Studies.”
He quoted Alhaji Muntari Kaita, the National President of the association, as saying that late Arase’s remarkable career in law enforcement and public service was a testament to the strong foundation, upbringing and values learnt at ABU.
He added: “The International Studies Alumni Association stands with the late Arase family in mourning this loss.
“We pray that God grants the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and that Solomon Arase soul rests in eternal peace.”
Arase passed away at a private hospital in Abuja on Sunday.
Born on June 21, 1956, in Owan West Local Government Area, Edo State, Arase studied Political Science at ABU Zaria, graduated in 1980, and joined the Nigeria Police Force on Dec.1, 1981. (NAN)
