Real Madrid sign Bernardo Silva on two-year deal
Real Madrid have completed the signing of Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva on a two-year contract following his departure from Manchester City.
The Spanish giants announced the deal on Wednesday, confirming that the 31-year-old will remain at the Santiago Bernabéu until June 30, 2028.
Silva joins Madrid as a free agent after ending a highly successful nine-year spell at Manchester City, where he established himself as one of the Premier League’s standout midfielders.

The Portugal international made 459 appearances for City after arriving from AS Monaco in 2017, scoring 76 goals and helping the club secure 15 major trophies.
His honours include four consecutive Premier League titles between 2021 and 2024, the UEFA Champions League during City’s historic treble-winning campaign in 2023, and a domestic quadruple in the 2018/19 season.
The signing is the latest move in Madrid’s squad overhaul under returning manager Jose Mourinho, who was reappointed by club president Florentino Perez after two trophyless seasons.
Madrid have also bolstered their squad with the reported €55 million acquisition of Marc Cucurella from Chelsea FC.
The club is also said to be monitoring Ibrahima Konate of Liverpool FC and Denzel Dumfries of Inter Milan as it continues preparations for the new season.
