Man shares emotional story of marriage collapse, alleges false accusation by wife (Video)
A Nigerian man has shared an emotional account of the collapse of his marriage, alleging that his wife turned against him after he sponsored her education in the United Kingdom up to the doctoral level.
Speaking in a video that has circulated widely on social media, the visibly emotional man claimed he married his wife when she came from a financially disadvantaged background and later relocated her to the United Kingdom in 1970 in search of better opportunities.
According to him, he made enormous financial sacrifices to ensure she attained a high level of education, saying he spent about £11,000 annually on her tuition and other educational expenses until she earned a PhD.
The man alleged that after his wife became professionally established, their relationship deteriorated dramatically.
He claimed that she initiated legal proceedings against him in the United Kingdom and accused him of sexually assaulting their then 11-year-old daughter, an allegation he insisted was entirely false and intended to facilitate his deportation from the country.
According to his account, the accusations resulted in a lengthy legal battle, separation from his children and the eventual collapse of the marriage.
The man said the experience left him emotionally devastated, adding that losing contact with his children was one of the most painful consequences of the dispute.
He expressed regret over how events unfolded despite what he described as decades of sacrifice and commitment to his family’s welfare.
The video has generated widespread reactions online, with many social media users expressing sympathy for the man’s ordeal, while others urged the public to avoid reaching conclusions without hearing all sides of the story.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no independent verification of the man’s claims, and no response has been made public by his former wife or relevant UK authorities regarding the allegations.
