Osimhen ranks among world’s top four strikers as Kane leads global list

Bayern Munich and England captain Harry Kane has been ranked the world’s best centre-forward, with Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen placing fourth in a list of the top 10 No. 9s in world football.

The ranking, compiled by Planet Football and published on Thursday, recognises Kane’s exceptional goalscoring record, creativity and all-round attacking qualities, placing him ahead of several of the game’s biggest stars.

The 32-year-old enjoyed another prolific campaign with Bayern Munich, combining clinical finishing with intelligent link-up play, leadership and an ability to create chances for teammates.

Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé and Manchester City goal machine Erling Haaland occupy second and third places respectively, while Osimhen is ranked fourth.

The Nigerian international earned praise for his pace, physicality, relentless work rate and knack for delivering in crucial matches, reinforcing his reputation as one of the world’s premier strikers.

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martínez finished fifth, followed by Real Sociedad skipper Mikel Oyarzabal and Atlético Madrid forward Julián Álvarez.

Arsenal striker Viktor Gyökeres was ranked eighth after another outstanding goalscoring season, while Stuttgart’s Deniz Undav claimed ninth place.

Barcelona veteran Robert Lewandowski rounded off the top 10, with the Polish forward continuing to earn recognition as one of football’s most clinical finishers.

Planet Football noted that the ranking focused exclusively on traditional centre-forwards, excluding wingers and other wide attacking players.
