Toluwanisings was born Sadiq Olayemi Bayonle in July 1992, father reveals
The father of late Toluwanisings has revealed that the gospel singer’s real name was Sadiq Olayemi Bayonle and that he was born in July 1992.
In an account of his son’s life and family background, the father explained that Toluwanisings was raised by his maternal family after his mother died when he was about six months old in 1992.
According to him, when his late wife’s remains were brought back from Kano, her family requested that the infant be released into their care to help them cope with their loss.
He said the family subsequently took the child in and raised him in the Christian faith, as his maternal relatives were Christians.
The father, however, noted that his elder brother also played a significant role in Toluwanisings’ upbringing, providing financial support, paying his school fees and buying him a bicycle, among other forms of assistance.
After completing secondary school, Toluwanisings proceeded to Yaba College of Technology in Lagos.
His father said he was living in Kano at the time but that his son maintained contact with his elder brother, who had married the singer’s mother on his behalf.
While in Lagos, Toluwanisings met the woman who later became his wife. The two reportedly sang in the same church choir before their relationship progressed to marriage.

The father said his son eventually informed the family of his intention to marry.
He also clarified that he had legally married Toluwanisings’ mother, although he had a child with another woman before the marriage.
Reflecting on his son’s religious journey, the father said he was pleased that Toluwanisings embraced Christianity, noting that their extended family included both Christians and Muslims.
He explained that after his wife’s death, he remarried and later introduced Toluwanisings to his younger half-siblings at the singer’s request.
According to him, the introduction marked the beginning of a close relationship between Toluwanisings and his half-siblings.
He described the late singer as a caring son who consistently supported his father and younger siblings, particularly financially.
The father further disclosed that Toluwanisings had promised, just a day before his death, to help establish one of his younger half-siblings in a business or other livelihood venture.
“He was a caring son, a supportive brother, and a blessing to his family,” he said.
His account offers a glimpse into the late singer’s childhood, family relationships, religious upbringing and the support he provided to his relatives.
