Aso Rock hosts Martin Luther King Jnr’s Family
President Muhammadu Buhari played host to the family of great American speaker and civil rights movement leader, Martin Luther King Jnr in Abuja few days ago.
Martin Luther King, Jr., whose original name is Michael King, Jr., was born January 15, 1929 and he died April 4, 1968. The Baptist minister and social activist, led the civil rights movement in the United States from the mid-1950s until his death by assassination.
Martin Luther King Jnr, popularly known for his “I Have A Dream” speech was a black freedom fighter who stood out for his relentless efforts to make America home to all irrespective of race or colour.
The family of the American hero presented Buhari with an award of The First Black History Month National Black Excellence and Exceptional African Leadership Award 2018 . This was revealed through Lauretta Onochie’s Facebook page. The award, was presented by Mrs. Naomi Barbara King who led other members of the African American family.
