FRSC will not tolerate unethical behavior of officers – Dr. Oyeyemi

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, has reiterated the commitment of the road safety commission not to tolerate any unethical behavior of any of its officers as Nigerians prepare for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Dr. Oyeyemi disclosed this at the weekend while reacting to an unethical behaviour exhibited by a Deputy Route Comander, B. Ojeamiran in a video that has since gone viral on various social media platforms.

The Deputy Route Commander in the video was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, an act which the Corps Marshal, totally condemned. He has therefore ordered an immediate investigation into the case.

According to the Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, the Corps Marshal whose administration is built on the tripod of Consultation, Reward and Punishment condemned in its totality the act and vowed to institute necessary disciplinary actions against the personnel and if found guilty, the law will take its due course.

He noted inter alia that the Federal Road Safety Corps will always remain resolute in its stand against unethical behaviours and will never condone any act of indiscipline by its personnel either on duty or out of duty.

Oyeyemi therefore applauded the ingenuity of the Nigerian Public for been an active watchdog of the Corps at all times and further called on them not to relent in such patriotic ventures.

While assuring the public of an immediate investigation, the Corps Marshal however reiterated the position of the Corps to its corporate mandate of ensuring a safer motoring environment for all citizenry and wishes Nigerians a safe drive during the festive celebrations and beyond.
