FG re-opens borders
The federal government at the weekend ordered the reopening of all land borders earlier closed before the postponement of the Saturday elections earlier scheduled for February 16th. 2019.
A statement signed by the Comptroller General of Immigration, Muhammad Babandede, directed all immigration officers to continue with their regular patrol to ensure all persons crossing the land, air and sea borders travel with valid documents and also pass through recognised routes.
The borders were closed during the preparations for the postponed Saturday elections. INEC had shifted the elections with one week citing logistics reasons.
